Live TV

Live TV can be accessed via either pressing the Live TV button on the remote, or selecting it from the TiVo Central menu (if you are recording then only the channel being recorded is available).

The programme banner appears at the top of the screen when you change channels, and can also be displayed by pressing the right arrow on the remote. Pressing the right arrow whilst the banner is already displayed cycles between three available styles: full banner with title and description, reduced banner with title, and time banner showing the time and channel. The full banner also has shortcuts to record, parental controls, and TiVo's messages.

The time bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen during trick play operations, and can also be displayed by pressing the play button on the remote. As you watch Live TV a buffer is automatically recording what you are watching making up to the last thirty minutes of viewing available (if you change channels this buffer is cleared).

Whilst watching Live TV you can pause the programme at any time, view an instant replay of the last eight seconds, or even rewind back to see something that has already been on. For full details of the options available and more details of the time bar see the trick play section.

To change channels use the channel up/down keys on the remote, or key in the channel number directly. Pressing the enter key selects the previous channel viewed allowing you to toggle between two channels.

You can press record whilst watching Live TV to record the current programme. You can even store the contents of the live TV buffer, so if you watch something and then wished you'd recorded it, you can!

Whilst watching Live TV you can also bring up a semi-transparent whats-on guide by pressing the Live TV button again on the remote control.

To clear any on-screen displays press the Clear button on the remote.
