are having problems getting your TiVo remote to control your TV
or audio system (standby, volume, and mute buttons).

Navigate from TiVo
Central to "Message & Setup", then "Recorder
& Phone Setup", then "Remote Control Setup".
Select the system you wish to configure and the brand. Follow
the instructions on screen for programming your remote. Try
each of the possible codes that are listed.

| Try adding 1000
to both the codes listed on TiVo's on-screen instructions, and
those listed in the PDF documents referenced above. So for example,
if 0195 is a recommended code, try 1195. |
| Enter code 0999
to make the remote scan through all available codes. Point the
remote at the device you are trying to control, and keep pressing
the channel/page up button on the remote. Each press tries a
new code. If one works, press the Enter key on the remote to
assign the code. For more details see Appendix B of your TiVo
user guide. Ironically, many people report some Thomson TV's
can not be controlled. |
