Some users have reported problems with widescreen switching. Reports vary from one make of TV to another:

• Widescreen signal does not change as rapidly as V1.5.2 - sometimes a number of seconds (twelve) elapse before the signal changes.
• The widescreen switching sometimes gets confused when you switch between widescreen/4:3 sources on AUX and VCR bypass.
• When a recording finishes or starts whilst you are watching a previously recorded widescreen programme TiVo switches to 4:3 momenterily before switching back to widescreen. The voltage on pin 8 of the SCART fluctuates when the recording stops. If playback was paused then TiVo does not switch back to widescreen until play is resumed.
